METRAXION 1-1/2 in 316 Stainless Steel Boat Fuel Deck Filler
Review
Construction and fit: This deck filler is machined from marine-grade 316 stainless steel for long-term corrosion resistance in saltwater and harsh environments. The outer neck measures 1-1/2 inches (approximately 38.8 mm), designed to fit the common 1-1/2" inner-diameter filler hoses for fuel and liquids.
Cap and operation: The cap uses a keyless flip design with an integrated pull tab held by a spring, allowing easy opening and reliable closure without a separate key. A stainless-steel chain secures the lid to the body so it won't be misplaced during filling operations.
Sealing and testing: A rubber gasket is supplied to form a watertight seal between the filler and the mounting surface. The assembly has been subjected to air-tightness and pressure verification to reduce the chance of fumes or leaks.
Finish and manufacturing: The part is produced using precision casting methods with silica-sol technology to achieve a single-piece, seamless housing. It receives a mirror polishing treatment for a smooth, integrated appearance that sits flush with deck or body surfaces.
Kit contents and installation: Ready to mount out of the box — the package includes one 316 stainless deck filler, three 316 stainless mounting screws, and one spare O-ring. Installation is straightforward: cut the proper hole, set the filler with sealant and screws, and connect the hose to the internal neck. Suitable for boats, yachts, RVs, trucks, and tractors where a durable fuel or liquid access point is required.
Pros
- 316 stainless resists corrosion in marine conditions
- Keyless flip cap with chain prevents lost lids
- Includes screws and spare O-ring for immediate install
Cons
- Gasket placement may require sealant for perfect fit
- Pull-tab recess is smaller than some designs
- Some units arrive without the extra O-ring
VerdictA robust, corrosion-resistant deck filler built from 316 stainless with a keyless flip cap and chain. It matches standard 1-1/2" filler hose, comes with screws and an extra O-ring, and has been tested for airtight, leak-free performance. Good value for marine and vehicle use when you want a durable, no-fuss filling point.

Well-made and simple to fit
Seems well-made and includes everything for an easy installation, including an extra O-ring. The stainless construction should resist corrosion and it fits cleanly, improving the appearance over the old filler.

Quality stainless piece with useful features
Nice polish and solid construction with stainless mounting hardware. Comes with a gasket to keep water out and the keyless cap is a favorite feature. Installation was straightforward: cut the hole, secure with screws and sealant, and attach the hose. Label options are available and an extra O-ring is included.

Marine-grade finish and secure seal
Well-built 1-1/2" filler that fits flush and feels corrosion-resistant. Smooth finish, sturdy screws, and a spare O-ring help ensure a good seal. Cap threads operate smoothly and the assembly works well on boats, RVs, and trucks.

Solid stainless, labeled 'FUEL', no key needed
Replaced a 'GAS' cap on a diesel vessel and now it's labeled 'FUEL', which eases my worries about misfuelling. I like the flip-up cap—no more special deck key. The stainless finish looks much better than the old chrome-plated part, and the chain keeps the lid from getting lost.

Bright and sturdy, missing gasket in my box
Standard deck filler—shiny, robust and flips open smoothly. Chain is long enough to keep the cap handy while refueling. It did not include a gasket in my shipment, and the cap indent is a bit smaller than others but still usable. Three screws provided, though the extra O-ring was absent.
