KODAK Mini 3 Retro Portable 3x3 Photo Printer (White)
Review
Instant smartphone photo printing: The KODAK Mini 3 Retro is a small, handheld photo printer built to convert phone pictures into physical 3x3 prints in under a minute. It’s intended for quick mementos—travel snapshots, party keepsakes, journaling inserts, and craft projects—so you can create physical photos wherever you are.
Genuine 4PASS dye-sublimation process: Each image is formed in three color layers and sealed with a clear protective laminate as a fourth pass. Typical output time is about 55 seconds per print. The laminated surface is designed to resist fingerprints, repel water, and slow fading for longer-lasting results.
Simple operation: The unit is designed for straightforward use—power on, pair via Bluetooth, open the KODAK Photo Printer app on a compatible iOS or Android device, make simple edits, then print. No complex setup is required, making it approachable for first-time users.
On-the-go size: The Mini 3 Retro is compact enough to slip into a hand, bag, or larger pocket, making it convenient for events, vacations, classroom projects, and instant photo booths. Its small footprint is ideal when you want real prints fast without a desktop printer.
App features and connectivity: The printer pairs with phones over integrated Bluetooth and works through the KODAK Photo Printer app. The app lets you crop, apply basic edits, and compose collages before sending images to the printer.
What’s included: The kit ships with the Mini 3 Retro printer, four color/laminate cartridges, 38 sheets of photo paper (3x3 / approximately 7.6 x 7.6 cm), a USB Type-C cable for charging, and a user guide so you can begin printing right away. The finished prints are compact squares suited to albums, scrapbooks, wall displays, booths, gifts, and other crafts.
Materials and size notes: Prints use dye-sublimation color layers plus a clear protective overcoat; paper dimensions are the square 3x3 format with a small lower margin used by the process. Because the output is square, wide horizontal images may be cropped when placed into the frame.

VerdictThe Mini 3 Retro is a compact, travel-friendly dye-sublimation printer that makes true 3x3 prints with a laminated finish. It delivers pleasing color and long-lasting photos in roughly a minute each, and it’s easy to carry for parties, trips, and scrapbooks. Expect occasional fiddliness with cartridges and Bluetooth pairing; if you value portability and protective, pocket-sized prints, it’s a stro

Solid 3x3 prints and retro look
Simple to use and reasonably quick. I picked the yellow for nostalgic style. The 4PASS prints feel more durable than ZINK, and the 3x3 size is exactly what I wanted.

Nice product and matches description (French review)
No technical problems during setup, though Bluetooth must be paired via the app. Prints are 7.6 x 7.6 cm with about a 1 cm white strip and a perforation for trimming. Square format crops wide images; app edits are limited but usable and colors are fairly accurate.

Would buy again — fun at parties
Overall 4/5. Great pocket size and decent print quality for the price. Prints are fast and a hit at gatherings. App edits on iPhone can’t always be printed directly without a workaround, and it can be finicky if you’re unfamiliar with loading cartridges.

Poor output and wasted prints
Half of my pack was ruined—4 of 8 prints were unusable and overall quality was disappointing. Not what I expected.

Mostly pleased, but first print can be messy
I bought this for travel journaling. The very first print jammed and tore a bit of the color film, which wasted the first cartridge and made the next install tricky. Once sorted, it worked, but flowers with purple tones didn’t match my expectations.

Works but not long-lasting
Prints are fine for souvenirs, but the device stopped working after a year despite light monthly use. Also often fails to pick the last sheets in a cartridge—wastes paper. I won’t replace it.

High-quality palm-sized polaroids
Compact and produces waterproof, attractive prints. Initial app pairing is the only nuisance; once paired editing and printing are straightforward. Don’t open the cartridge during use or you risk ruining sheets.

Works if you have patience (updated: very frustrating)
Initially the color and prints were fine if you tolerate quirks. Over time it became a headache—sometimes taking 30–60 minutes to get the cartridge detected and Bluetooth to stay connected. Very disappointing after trusting the brand.
