SanDisk Extreme PRO 128GB UHS‑I SD Card — Up to 200MB/s Read
Review
This product is a single SanDisk Extreme PRO SD card in the standard SD form factor, offered here in the 128GB capacity. The card is built to the UHS‑I specification and carries both the UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) and Video Speed Class 30 (V30) ratings, which designate suitability for sustained 4K UHD recording and high‑frame‑rate capture with compatible hosts.
SanDisk equips this line with proprietary QuickFlow Technology to push read throughput beyond the typical UHS‑I 104MB/s ceiling; internal testing shows reads up to 200MB/s on supported hosts. Write performance measures up to 90MB/s for sequential recording and burst sequences, helping prevent buffer stalls when shooting RAW bursts or high‑bitrate video. Actual speeds depend on the host device, interface, usage conditions and card capacity; QuickFlow is available for select sizes including 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.
Physically the card uses the standard molded SD card body and contacts to fit any device with an SD slot. The 128GB capacity balances storage for extended shoots without making file management unwieldy. For the fastest transfers, pair the card with the SanDisk Professional PRO‑READER SD/microSD (sold separately); otherwise transfers will be constrained by the reader or host device.
Use cases include 4K UHD video capture, high‑speed continuous photography, and general high‑capacity media storage. Note that formatted capacity is slightly less than the labeled capacity due to system formatting and file structures. Compatibility with specific cameras, recorders and other devices can vary; consult device specs for confirmed support of UHS and V30 performance classes.
Pros
- Very fast read speeds (up to 200MB/s with QuickFlow)
- Sustained writes up to 90MB/s for 4K and burst shooting
- U3 and V30 ratings for reliable video capture
Cons
- Peak speeds require compatible host and reader
- QuickFlow available only on select capacities
- Actual usable capacity is slightly lower than labeled
VerdictA top-tier UHS‑I SD card for photographers and videographers who need fast offloads and reliable in‑camera performance. With QuickFlow enabling reads up to 200MB/s and sustained writes up to 90MB/s, the card handles 4K capture and rapid burst shooting with minimal buffering. Best used with a compatible reader to reach advertised transfer rates.

Blazing transfers and dependable in-camera performance
This card has performed without fault. Read speeds match the specs, so moving an entire shoot to my computer happens quickly, and write speeds keep up during burst sessions with no buffering. The V30 rating has handled 4K clips smoothly, and 128GB hits the practical balance between capacity and risk if misplaced. I’ve pushed it hard and it’s held up—feels rugged.

Major upgrade for DSLR shooters
Switched to the Extreme PRO 256GB for my DSLR and it’s been a noticeable improvement. Write throughput lets me shoot long RAW bursts without pauses, even during extended action work outdoors. The large capacity eliminates frequent swaps and the card’s build inspires confidence in mixed conditions. For pros wanting high capacity and fast, consistent performance, it’s been excellent.

Trusted performance, but market options have evolved
SanDisk cards have been a core part of my workflow for years; I’ve used them for shooting, storing and delivering client work. Read/write speeds and compatibility are excellent across devices. They remain dependable. Buyers should be aware there are more competitors now and different form factors and speed tiers—check your needs before choosing capacity and class.

Top V30 performer—worth the premium
After using Lexar, I noticed the difference: this V30 card supports higher 4K bitrates up to the advertised range and hasn’t let me down in my Sony A6700. Paying extra for the better card has been worthwhile.

Room for huge shoots with fast transfer rates
The 512GB Extreme PRO gives massive space for photos and 4K video. UHS‑I speeds reduce transfer and recording delays, so you can shoot longer without swapping cards. Great for professionals who need both capacity and consistent throughput.
