Fabric-Covered Twist Upholstery Pins — 12-Pack
Review
One compact set contains 12 fabric-covered button pins, supplied in a small reusable plastic case for tidy storage.
Each pin combines a soft fabric-wrapped button cap with a spiral metal shaft that screws into textiles for a secure anchor. The tops are finished in common neutral tones—beige, black, and grey—so they fade into most fabrics rather than standing out.
Installation requires no tools: press the spiral tip through the cover or throw, then rotate the button until the shaft twists firmly into the material. Removal is simply the reverse—unscrew the pin and lift it free.
The low-profile button hides the hardware on the surface of sofas, chair arms, bed skirts, tablecloths and car seat covers, keeping the look tidy while preventing slips. They work best on woven and layered fabrics; avoid relying on them where parts must move continually.
Pros
- Discreet fabric-covered tops
- Easy, tool-free twist-in installation
- Reusable storage case
Cons
- Not ideal for moving recliner joints
- May bend if forced into dense material
- Limited matching colors
VerdictThese 12 fabric-covered twist pins offer a discreet, tool-free way to fasten slipcovers and lightweight fabrics. The spiral metal shaft provides a firmer hold than straight pins and the cloth button tops blend with upholstery. Best for stationary areas; some users report weaker grip on moving or heavily-stressed seams.

Perfect for hiding cat-scratched spots
I used towels to cover claw damage and these pins finally kept them from sliding off. The pack of twelve in a plastic case was handy, and the mixed beige/grey/black set gave options even though none matched my dark brown exactly.

Not great for moving recliner parts
They don’t stay put where the recliner’s fabric shifts. On static areas they hold up fine.

Surprisingly good
Better quality than I expected.

Small but effective
Sturdy construction. The fabric button matched my chair and kept the cover in place. Highly recommend these little anchors.

Poor grip for me
Hard to work with and a few bent while I was installing them. I’m skeptical they’ll hold under stress.

Simple and reliable
Easy to use and they do the job well.

Like the old-fashioned fix
Exactly enough buttons to keep the towel covers on my chair arms. The spiral spikes screw into the towel and hold steady. Some pins arrive slightly askew and may need the shaft bent back upright before use, but the button is easy to grip even with stiff fingers.

Holds throws without marking upholstery
These twist-in pins secured my sofa throw nicely. I pressed and twisted them through the throw into the upholstery and they held firmly. After removing one to inspect, I couldn’t see any obvious marks on either fabric, and the covered tops look much tidier than exposed clips.
