Tamagoyaki Omelette Pan — Korean-Made Rectangular & Square Egg Skillet
Review
Construction and materials
This tamagoyaki pan is forged from commercial-grade heavy-gauge aluminum (3004 alloy) to promote uniform heat distribution and reduce hot spots. The cooking surface features a three-layer reinforced Teflon nonstick finish that is manufactured without PFOA, cadmium, or lead and incorporates scratch-resistant technology.
Design and sizes
The pan is available in two shapes: a medium rectangular model measuring approximately 7.5 x 5.5 x 1.2 inches and a large square version at about 8.5 x 8.5 x 1.2 inches. The sides are straight and the front edge is slightly sloped to facilitate rolling and flipping omelettes.
Compatibility and care
A heavy-duty forged base prevents warping and makes the pan suitable for gas, electric, ceramic, and induction cooktops. It is rated for oven use up to 350°F. The finish is advertised as dishwasher-safe, though following gentle cleaning practices and avoiding metal utensils will extend the life of the coating.
What it’s for
Primarily intended for making tamagoyaki and rolled Japanese omelettes, this pan also performs well for fried eggs, egg sheets for wraps, breakfast sandwich patties, pancakes, quick sears on vegetables, and small cuts of meat. Its compact footprint makes it handy when you need an omelette-specific tool or a compact work surface for eggs.
Pros
- Even heat from forged aluminum base
- Durable three-layer PFOA-free nonstick finish
- Works on induction and other cooktops
Cons
- Shallow depth limits saucy reheating
- Nonstick needs gentle care to last
- No lid included
VerdictA sturdy, well-designed tamagoyaki pan that heats evenly and makes rolled omelettes easy. The rectangular and square shapes suit different needs — from classic tamagoyaki to square egg slices for sandwiches. Durable construction, solid nonstick, and induction compatibility make it a practical addition to any kitchen if you follow recommended care to prolong the coating.

Exactly what I needed, wish it had a lid
Size is spot on and the slippery interior makes rolling easy. I purchased two silicone spatulas that fit the pan and they work together well when forming the rolls. Cleans up with no trouble. A fitted lid would make it perfect.

Does the job for egg patties and sheets
Heats quickly and the coating prevents sticking. I use it mainly for egg patties for sandwiches and to make thin egg sheets for wraps — it works very well for both.

Lightweight and simple to clean
Perfect for making omelettes for my baby. The pan's size is convenient, eggs roll smoothly, and cleanup is effortless. The surface resists scratches when I use silicone tools.

More useful than I expected
I bought this to practice tamagoyaki and it excels at that, but quickly became my go-to for breakfast sandwiches. The rectangular shape makes it easy to cook square eggs that fit bread better than round pans. The nonstick has held up well over several years with moderate use. Treat it with care — avoid metal tools, high heat, and aggressive cleaning — and it keeps performing reliably.

Sturdy feel and excellent rolling surface
This pan feels heavier than typical aluminum skillets and the cooking area is flat and even. The thick nonstick has handled delicate egg substitutes without sticking, and the insulated handle stays comfortable. My rolled omelettes improved noticeably once I switched to this pan.

Easy once you learn the technique
Happy with this pan for tamagoyaki and other uses. Food doesn’t stick when cared for, it’s lightweight, and the size is handy. Use a wide spatula and watch a few tutorial videos to get the rolling technique down.

Works well for rolled omelettes
Good for making rolled egg omelettes as long as you use a flat wooden or silicone spatula to avoid damaging the surface. Don't overheat the pan and take your time while rolling; the results are worth it.

Impressive for Japanese-style rolled omelettes
Bought the large size for two people and it reaches temperature fast. The heavy Teflon coating resists scratches, spreads heat evenly to the corners, and needs very little oil. It's light yet solid, looks good, and handles easily. Not ideal for deep or saucy dishes due to the shallow sides, but versatile for many egg preparations.
