adidas MLS Training Soccer Ball (Unisex, Size 5)
Review
What you get: one machine-stitched adidas MLS training ball (unisex, size 5) ready for inflation.
Construction: The ball uses a smooth TPU outer layer to give a comfortable, predictable contact. Beneath that cover is a polyester and nylon wound carcass that supports shape and structure so the ball keeps its roundness through play. Stitching is machine-applied for consistent panels and seams.
Air retention: A butyl bladder is fitted to preserve inflation between sessions, so you won’t need frequent top-ups when using it for regular drills or casual games.
Performance and feel: The soft-touch surface makes it approachable for players working on control, passing and shooting. The combination of materials produces consistent flight and handling that helps with repetition in training.
Versatility: Designed for recreational and training use, this ball performs well on grass and turf and can be used indoors for skill work. It’s a practical option for pickup matches, team practice, small-sided games, and general ball control exercises.
Durability: Built to withstand repeated sessions, the layered construction and durable TPU cover provide longevity for everyday practice, from neighborhood kickabouts to club training.
Pros
- Consistent soft touch and trajectory

VerdictA reliable, entry-level training ball that balances durability, consistent feel, and good air retention. Ideal for youth practice
Good quality for the cost. Durable enough for many evening practices and a great gift. Easy to inflate and holds air for a long time once filled.

Good at first, but lifespan was short
My son loved this ball and it performed well initially, but after about seven months it started to show issues. I expected longer durability from adidas; worked great while it lasted but wore down sooner than hoped.

Sturdy and well made
Feels solid with a nice touch and has stood up to frequent use. The colors are better in person and it’s perfect for practice or casual kicking. My daughter uses it all the time and it still looks good.

Impressively tough
This ball has been through turf, grass and concrete without complaint. Looks great and stays true to its size 5 shape when fully inflated. It even survived being run over by a car once — very durable for neighborhood play.

Really pleased with this training ball
Bought this for casual weekend games and it's been impressive. The textured TPU cover offers a consistent touch on grass and turf, and it has held pressure well for weeks. Graphics look sharp and the ball keeps its shape even after heavy strikes. Comes deflated, so have a pump handy. Overall, it plays like a much pricier ball and is great for training and recreation.

Some cosmetic issues out of the box
Mine arrived partially deflated and had creases. Stickers left residue when removed. Small annoyances, but the ball is still usable.

Lightweight and quality
Feels light even as a size 5. Good quality and tested indoors.

Feels premium despite the low cost
Arrives uninflated, so you’ll need a pump, but the weight and feel are right for a size 5. Soft to kick and works well indoors and outdoors. Design looks fun and it doesn’t feel cheaply made.
