MUMTOP Cardinal Outdoor Thermometer — Wall-Mount Garden Gauge
Review
This unit arrives as a single wall-mounted outdoor thermometer featuring a painted metal housing and an acrylic dial face. The metal shell is treated to resist rust and is intended to hold up through changing seasonal conditions.
Pros
- Waterproof, rust-resistant metal case
- Battery-free built-in temperature sensor
- Dual C/F scale covering -40° to 60°C (-40° to 140°F)
Cons
- Analog accuracy can vary from digital references
- Smaller Celsius markings may be hard to read at distance
- Dial size limits long-range visibility
VerdictA charming, weatherproof analog thermometer that combines curb appeal with simple functionality. It requires no batteries and displays both Celsius and Fahrenheit across a wide range. Readability and decorative appeal are strong points; expect general outdoor accuracy suitable for everyday use rather than precision lab measurements. Easy to hang and built to resist rust and the elements.

Arrived defective
The piece looked like a return and it doesn't register temperatures. I discarded the packaging, so I can't return it.

Lovely addition to my home
Arrived intact, was easy to mount, and adds a nice touch to my brick exterior. Works perfectly.

Dial too small for distance
Face is small — only suitable if viewed up close. More decorative than practical from afar.

Broke within months
Received in August 2025; by Dec 1 it stopped displaying temperatures. Very disappointing.

Shows wildly incorrect readings
Mounted on the porch when it was about 38°F outside; the gauge read around 100°F, then 80°F after hours. Very disappointed.

Charmed by its look and usefulness
Great for a small apartment — compact, pleasant to look at, and it reliably shows outdoor temps so I know how to dress for walks.

Good visibility, not lab-accurate
Readable from roughly 10 feet. Compared to two digital units (which agreed within 1°), this ran about 6° off but has a rear adjustment knob. Avoid direct sun.

Fahrenheit dominates the dial
I missed that Fahrenheit is the prominent scale. That was my oversight, but it still suits my outdoor decor.

Beautiful but hard-to-read Celsius
Looks stunning by our pool, but the Celsius numbers are much smaller under the Fahrenheit and are difficult to read from a distance.
