NDakter 5-Digit Heavy-Duty Combination Chain Bike Lock
Review
What’s included: a combination chain lock with a 5-digit resettable mechanism (default code set to 00000). Multiple length options are offered: 2.62 ft, 3.2 ft, 4.27 ft, 5 ft and 6 ft so you can choose the span that fits your needs.
Construction and materials: the chain is built from 0.24 inch alloy steel links for resistance to cutting and heavy wear. The lock cylinder uses zinc-alloy components and is designed to resist drilling and tampering. Around the chain is a woven polypropylene sleeve that guards against scratches, abrasions and exposure to heat or cold, helping protect your bike’s finish and extending the product’s lifespan.
Operation and security: the five-digit combination mechanism is user-changeable, providing 10,000 possible codes for personalized security. The mechanism is keyless, eliminating worries about lost keys. To use, simply wrap the chain around an immovable object and your frame or wheel, set your code and secure the shackle. Note: the 5 ft model weighs about 2.22 pounds; chain locks are versatile but can be bulky to carry.
Use cases and cautions: long enough to secure one to three bikes or to anchor a bike to posts, racks, gates and railings. It’s also suitable for motorcycles, scooters, skateboards, grills, ladders, doors and lawn equipment. While built to deter thieves and resist quick attacks, no lock is completely theft-proof—avoid leaving valuables unattended in high-risk areas.
Pros
- 5-digit resettable combination for personalized security
- Hardened 0.24 in alloy-steel chain resists cutting
- Polypropylene sleeve protects bike paint and reduces wear
Cons
- Heavier and bulkier than lightweight cable locks
- Deterrent-level security — not invulnerable to determined thieves
- Less convenient to carry for long rides without mounts
VerdictA robust, keyless chain lock that balances strong materials with practical use. The 5-digit resettable code and thick alloy links make it a solid deterrent for everyday security needs, while the fabric sleeve prevents frame damage. Not impenetrable, but a dependable, versatile option for securing bikes, scooters and similar gear.

Solid deterrent — gifted and used daily
I bought this as a present and my friend uses it every day. The heavy steel links and five-digit combination make it much harder to defeat with basic tools. As a chain it wraps around objects easily and is very versatile. No lock is invincible, but this one feels built to deter.

Keeps my scooter secure
Has held up well and felt sturdy. Long enough to lock to most posts and not too bulky to toss in a bag. The code is simple to program and the locking action is smooth.

Good value and simple setup
Five-digit code felt more secure than four digits and was easy to program. The fabric cover protects my frame and the chain reaches common racks and poles. Reliable for everyday locking.

Solid build for storage use
Picked this up for my son’s bike in storage. Feels heavy-duty and confidence-inspiring. It’s a bit bulky to carry daily, so I gave it four stars, but it’s perfect for securing a stored bike.

Video reviews made me nervous
After watching clips showing a thief twisting the lock off and another where a child’s sibling broke it quickly, I hesitated to rely on it. I still take it on rides but I’m reluctant to leave a bike unattended.
