CGA-580 Nitrogen Regulator — Dual-Gauge N2 Tank Regulator for Kegs & Coffee
Review
This CGA-580 nitrogen regulator arrives as a complete regulator assembly for N2 tanks, ready to bolt onto a standard CGA-580 cylinder fitting. The unit includes the regulator body with welded 7/16-20 UFN (CGA-580) thread, a low-pressure outlet with an integrated ball-valve shut-off, and two screw-on hose barbs (1/4" and 5/16" ID) to suit common tubing sizes.
Construction uses plated metal components and durable gauge housings; the finish is smooth and resists corrosion. Two pressure gauges are mounted on the body: the supply gauge reads up to 3500 psi to indicate tank contents, while the delivery gauge spans 0–100 psi for fine control of dispense pressure. The gauges are positioned for easy reading during setup and use.
Control is handled by two knobs: a primary adjustment knob for setting output pressure with fine-threaded increments, and a bottom-mounted shut-off valve that closes with a simple 90° rotation. The package also includes fittings to attach either 1/4" or 5/16" I.D. tubing without additional adapters, and the outlet thread accepts common NPT couplers for fast-connect options.
Safety is provided by an integrated pressure relief valve that actuates automatically if output pressure climbs into the 75–85 psi range and can be manually lifted for quick venting. That feature helps prevent line over-pressurization and liquid from being forced back into the gas line.
Intended applications include hooking up nitrogen cylinders for silky nitro cold brew or for beer gas use in dispensing systems. The regulator suits home kegerators, café setups, and small commercial draft lines where stable low-pressure nitrogen is required.
Pros
- Dual gauges for tank and delivery pressure
- Welded CGA-580 fitting and included 1/4" & 5/16" barbs
- Built-in safety relief and simple 90° shut-off
Cons
- Boxing or labeling may be incorrect
- Documentation may reference CO2 by mistake
- No quick-disconnect included by default
VerdictA robust, budget-friendly N2 regulator built for nitro cold brew and beer dispensing. It delivers reliable pressure control, includes common hose barbs and a CGA-580 fitting, and adds a safety relief—making it a practical choice for home kegerators, cafés, or restaurants.

Solid performer so far
I've only used this a few weeks so can't vouch for years of service, but it has worked very well for nitrogen tire inflation and similar tasks. The construction feels sturdy with a good plated finish, and I haven't detected any leaks on either the high- or low-pressure sides. Pressure adjustment moves smoothly and the gauges seem accurate in their mid-range. The low-pressure outlet was easy to adapt to a quick-release coupling thanks to the threaded port. Packaging labeled CGA-320 initially, but the unit is the CGA-580 as expected. If it holds up, it's a great value.

Stopped my leak
My previous regulator had a persistent leak I couldn't locate, so I replaced it with this one. It sealed perfectly right away and has held pressure since. Very glad I upgraded.

Excellent for nitro pours
I wanted a nitro line on one of my three taps and paired this regulator with a nitro tap and beer gas canister. The pour is slower than a standard CO2 tap, but the result is worth it: a thick, creamy head and a smoother mouthfeel that helped tame hop bitterness on a hoppy brown I tried. It improves presentation and texture. The paperwork mentioned CO2, but the regulator itself has the CGA-580 fitting for nitrogen.

Well-made, feature-rich nitrogen regulator
The build and finish are very nice, and the gauges have protective plastic housings. The supply gauge reads to 3500 psi and the output to 100 psi, both mounted for easy visibility. Output includes a ball valve and flare fitting, and the kit provides 1/4" and 5/16" screw-on barb fittings. The unit includes a CGA-580 high-pressure inlet and a finely threaded adjustment knob with a locking ring for stable pressure settings.
