Cascade Complete Dishwasher Pods - Fresh Scent ActionPacs (78 Count)
Review
What’s included: a tub of premeasured Cascade Complete ActionPacs (Fresh scent), packaged in a resealable container holding 78 pods.
Formulation and materials: each ActionPac is a single-dose pouch containing concentrated dishwasher detergent with the grease-fighting ingredient from Dawn. The formula provides roughly 25% more cleaning ingredients compared with Cascade Original and is phosphate-free, designed to dissolve quickly early in the wash cycle so cleaning begins right away.
How to use: place one ActionPac in the dishwasher dispenser or pod compartment and close the door—no tearing or fussing with wrappers. For best drying and shine, use with a dedicated rinse aid; for periodic machine maintenance use a dishwasher cleaner to remove buildup. Skip the pre-wash to save water: ENERGY STAR dishwashers use under 4 gallons per cycle, while handwashing can use up to 24 gallons for an 11-minute session, so running a full dishwasher load can conserve water when you bypass pre-rinsing.
Performance notes: Cascade markets these ActionPacs as the top recommended brand among dishwasher manufacturers in North America based on co-marketing agreements. The pods are intended for daily family loads and do a strong job on normal to moderately soiled items; for exceptionally stubborn, baked-on residues a pre-soak or extra treatment may help.
Care and safety: keep pods out of reach of children and pets; store the tub sealed and dry. Follow your dishwasher manufacturer’s instructions for best results.
Pros
- Strong grease removal thanks to Dawn-powered formula
- Premeasured, mess-free single-dose ActionPacs
- Phosphate-free and fast-dissolving for early-cycle action
Cons
- May need pre-soak for very heavy, baked-on food
- Higher cost than some generic pods
- Must be kept secured away from children
VerdictCascade Complete ActionPacs are an easy, effective dishwasher detergent option for everyday use. The pods combine extra cleaning ingredients and Dawn’s grease-cutting action to remove typical food soils and reduce spotting on glassware. They’re convenient to use—no measuring or wrapping—and phosphate-free. For very heavy baked-on grime you may still prefer a pre-soak or a booster, but for routine

Finally a dishwasher pod that actually cleans!
I switched to these ActionPacs after trying other varieties and the difference was obvious. Dishes, glasses and silverware come out clean and the glassware actually sparkles. Very simple to use—toss a pod in and go. I’ll stick with this one and may try the lemon scent next.

Solid, reliable choice — 4 stars
These pods are convenient and work well for everyday food residue and grease. I gave four stars because extremely stuck-on messes sometimes need a pre-rinse or extra treatment, but for routine family use they’re dependable and time-saving.

Consistent spot-free results and simple to use
I’ve used these for months and appreciate the convenience—no measuring and no mess. My dishes and glassware come out with no spots or film, even delicate clear glasses. The large tub lasts a long time, so it’s a good value for performance. Highly recommended for everyday washing.

Does exactly what it promises
We’ve depended on these pods for years—dishes come out sparkling and free of sticky film. For heavy soils we pre-rinse or soak first, which helps. Pods fit the dispenser well and close properly. Keep away from kids. Overall performs as expected.
